Training & Events
At Magellan, we work to support culturally competent care -- our goal is to collaborate with providers for member care that recognizes the diverse backgrounds of the individuals and families we serve. Our strategies acknowledge and respect the behavior, ideas, attitudes, values, beliefs and language of an individual or group of people.
Below is a link to some of our corporate resources outlining how we incorporate cultural competence into our care and services. On this page you'll find a comprehensive resource kit, an introduction to our treatment philosophy and information sheets on the topic.
Note that providers are required to complete three hours of Cultural Competency Training annually. The following four modules of Cultural Competency Training must be completed to get three hours of credit.
- Serving and Supporting LGBTQI+ Youth in CSoC **NEW**
- The Hispanic/Latino Community in Louisiana **Revised August 2019**
- Louisiana Native American Indian Tribes **Revised July 2019**
- Vietnamese in Louisiana
