Office of Behavioral Health (OBH) Training Requirements for Unlicensed Direct Care Staff
It is important for unlicensed direct care staff to have a basic understanding of key concepts when working with members receiving behavioral health services.
OBH developed modules to address these required competencies and Magellan has included these modules below. After completing each module click on the attestation form for these OBH modules, complete and submit it for documentation that you completed the module. You are not required to utilize the OBH modules, however equivalent training must be utilized in its place covering the topics and content described in the modules. If you wish to complete these trainings via an entity other than OBH, Magellan or one of the Bayou Health Plans, the training must be submitted via email to Magellan at LACSoCProviderQuestion@MagellanHealth.com for approval consideration prior to participating in the training.
For new Unlicensed Direct Care Staff, these trainings must be completed prior to delivering services.
The required modules are as follows:
- MH 101: Intro to Serious Mental Illness and Emotional Behavioral Disorders
- Crisis Intervention
- Suicide and Homicide Precautions
- System of Care Overview
- Co-Occurring Disorders
- Treatment Planning
- Cultural and Linguistic Competency-Basic
