Member Access to Care
Magellan believes that members are to have timely access to appropriate mental health and substance use services from an in- network provider 24 hours a day, seven days a week.
Please refer to your provider contract and the Provider Handbook Supplement for the Louisiana Coordinated System of Care for more information related to provider responsibilities. Please remember some of these important provider responsibilities related access to care:
Provider shall respond to referrals for immediate, urgent and routine needs within the following appointment access standards:
- Emergent appointment within one hour of request
- Urgent appointment within 48 hours of referral
- Routine appointment within 14 calendar days
